Are you tired of being stuck at home? Tired of wearing masks? Want to get out and socialize? So do we! Unfortunately, the pandemic and colder weather have many of us cooped up for a while longer. While we wait for a reprieve from our captivity, we figured an online tea party would make our time at home a bit more enjoyable.
It’s time to have some fun. To celebrate Hans Christian Andersen‘s birthday we are having an online tea party on April 2, 2021. We would love for you to attend. Use the hashtag #onlineteaparty and spread the word!

What?
We are having an online tea party, and we would love for you to attend. We will talk about what we are drinking, what we are snacking on, and what we are reading. Join us!
-
When?
The online tea party is all day April 2, 2021. (By the way, April 2 is Hans Christian Andersen's birthday.)
-
Where?
We are all spread out, so the tea party is online. We are using the hashtag #onlineteaparty to communicate.
At the tea party, tell everyone:
- Do you have some tea? What are you drinking?
- Everybody needs to eat. What are you snacking on?
- We would love to hear about new books. What are you reading?
Since it will be Hans Christian Andersen’s birthday, feel free to talk about his stories. He wrote stories for children and you will probably recognize many of them. Here are just a few of the many stories he wrote:
- The Ugly Duckling
- Thumbelina
- The Snow Queen
- The Nightingale
- The Little Mermaid
- The Emperor’s New Clothes
- The Princess and the Pea

He was quite a prolific writer. Check out his bibliography to see all the other stories he wrote.
We look forward to hearing from you at the party!
